There are so many “Cirque du Soleil” shows in Las Vegas now. When you hear “Cirque du Soleil”, you’d think it’s the acrobatic show with lots of people hanging from the ceiling, jumping, bending, etc., well, at least that was my ideal of the show until I saw the show “KA” at MGM Gland in Las Vegas in November.

Even before the show opened, the venue was set up to be more theatrical than acrobatic circus show with actors in costumes and balconies assembled with what looked to be lumbers and bamboos. I had no idea about the show “KA” before I sat in my seat at the theater, and I was in for a nice surprise with great performances and the best of all, by the overall quality of the show. Scuba Dive Trip to Grand Cayman

3 sting rays in Grand Cayman In early June, I went to Grand Cayman for scuba dive. The weather wasn’t perfect. In fact, we had pretty rough thunder storm on the third day, but it didn’t stop some of us from diving. I did two boat dives every morning with a group. We were on a “Sting Ray” boat. Many did afternoon dives and night dives. I did one shore dive in one of the afternoons to see the mermaid statue near the Sunset House and a wreck.

The trip was to participate in the Underwater Cameras “Demo Days” organized by Ikelite. I’ve taken some underwater photos using a small camera before, but never had much of an interests in polishing up the camera skills or anything like that. So, I thought it would be just like any other scuba dive trip for me, but boy I got bitten by a underwater photography bug! [click to continue…]

Going back to Japan

After planning a trip to Japan for weeks, I finally booked a flight and purchased a Japan Rail Pass for a week vacation. I was hoping to use mileages to get a free flight, but instead, I booked upgradeable economy ticket, and used mileages to upgrade it to Business class.
